Newly released interrogations in the Kolton Shearer case

The State Attorney's office released the police interviews of the four people now serving prison time in connection with Kolton Shearer's murder in July 2016.

The 18-year-old was a standout baseball player at Middleburg High School.

Police say Kolton was lured to his death after 24-year-old Alexandra Schreffler baited him on Facebook.

She showed police her Facebook messages with Kolton, which they printed as evidence.

Police say Taurean Johnson, Jordan Coleman and Ozell McNabb were looking for someone to rob.

Police say Jordan Coleman was the one who asked Schreffler to look, Schreffler calling Shearer an "easy target."

Shearer was attacked when he arrived at a Clay County home.

Coleman eventually pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and was sentenced to 25 years in Florida state prison in July 2018.

Schreffler says she was inside when she heard the shots and got on the ground. She told investigators she had no idea who had been shot.

When police confronted her about knowing more than she led on, she became extremely emotional.

“So what are you saying, I set this up? How would I set someone up to be killed?” Schreffler told detectives.

Johnson and McNabb pleaded guilty to reduced charges of second-degree murder.

Schreffler entered a plea deal in 2016 for reduced charges of armed robbery and had agreed to testify.

The case never went to trial. All four defendants reached plea agreements.
