Hurricane Michael battered Florida's Panhandle Wednesday, bringing with it destructive 155 mph winds and life-threatening storm surge.

CHOPPER VIDEOS: Damage to Mexico Beach 

The winds of the Category 4 storm ripped apart homes, and feet of storm surge left homes underwater.

Action News Jax reporter Russell Colburn is reporting from the Florida Panhandle. He said according to an outage map, there are 110,000 customers without power in Tallahassee.

Michael weakened and became a Tropical Storm Thursday at 12 a.m., the National Hurricane Center said.

Oct. 10 | Hurricane Michael makes landfall

Large chunks of the roof at Pineapple Willy’s in Panama City Beach are coming off at a time. The northern eyewall is hitting the coast.
