Irma: Boarded up Fernandina Beach restaurant burglarized, vandalized

A restaurant that was boarded up ahead of Hurricane Irma was reportedly burglarized and vandalized.

Cucina South Italian Bistro said on its Facebook page that the burglary happened Thursday night.

The restaurant said the Nassau County Crime Scene Investigators are investigating evidence including fingerprints and blood that was found inside the building.

Investigators haves leads, the restaurant said.

Photos shared on the Facebook post showed several rooms trashed with paper and bottles strewn across the floor. It appears in a photo that a couch in one of the rooms was slashed.

Other photos showed shattered plates on the kitchen floor and furniture piled to the ceiling.

The restaurant asks if anyone has information regarding this incident to contact the police. Any information leading to the criminals who committed this crime will receive a reward of $500.
