Jacksonville part of top ten cities with most new HIV cases

Northeast Florida has one of the highest rates of new HIV cases in the country according to a new report by AIDS-VU.

It puts the Jacksonville area in the top ten of metropolitan cities with the highest rate of new cases.

That area not only includes Duval County, but also St. Johns, Clay, Baker and Nassau counties.

The report says 65 percent of people diagnosed with HIV between 2011 and 2015 were African-American, 25 percent were white, and six percent were Latino.
