Jacksonville elementary school on lockdown after reported armed robbery

A Jacksonville elementary school was on lockdown Tuesday after a reported armed robbery near the school, officials say.

Duval County school officials said Crown Point Elementary was on a code yellow lockdown because of police activity in the area. Students and staff were safe, officials said.

A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office spokesperson told Action News Jax that police were called to a reported armed robbery in the area.

No suspect was identified at last check and the investigation is ongoing, the spokesperson said.
