Jacksonville family requests help for three-legged pit bull going through chemo

Aurthur the pit bull lives in Jacksonville and is undergoing cancer treatments. 

The family of a Jacksonville dog is reaching out for help while their dog begins to undergo cancer treatment.

According to the GoFundMe page, the family said Arthur has been diagnosed with synovial cell sarcoma and the dog will have to undergo chemotherapy. The family said he needs about six treatments with the first one that started Feb. 23. Arthur will have to get treatment every couple of weeks.

"We know Arthur will do outstanding because his happy, peaceful attitude is strong," said the family. "Arthur loves just being alive and we want him to continue that way."

The family said they are asking for help in treatment costs. They said they have maxed out their vet credit for the surgery and care. Arthur had to have his leg removed during the surgery.
