Jacksonville lifeguards warns public to stay out of water after eight rescues

Lifeguards are warning people to stay out of the water after they pulled eight people from rip currents at Jacksonville Beach on Tuesday.

Three people were taken to the hospital, according to Jacksonville Beach Ocean Rescue.

The rescues come days after  lifeguards pulled an Illinois man from a rip current in Atlantic Beach.

Robert Hickman Jr. was taken under water while at the beach with family on Saturday.

He was unconscious when lifeguards pulled him out of the water.

Hickman,  a 38-year-old father of six, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
