Jacksonville Mcdonald's employee fired after slapping customer

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The McDonalds's employee seen in video slapping a customer in a Southside restaurant has been fired.

The employee, Sierra Williams said she was provoked by a customer who used racial slurs. Williams said she’s worked in customer service for years, but this was her first interaction, like this—with a customer.

Before someone pulled out their phone to record the viral 45-second video, Williams said the customer became belligerent because she thought her food wasn't prepared quickly enough.

Witnesses said the customer threw coffee on Williams which led to the incident.

Williams said she’s worked at McDonald’s for eight years and understands the importance of good customer service.
