The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office received a call shortly after 1 a.m. Monday morning about a man shot in a driveway on N. Gilmore Heights Road.
When JSO arrived on scene the man was determined deceased.
"There was a small gathering for new years approximately 15 people at the house. Some type of argument took place at the house which led to, appears to have led to the death of the individual," Sgt. Mark Musser with JSO told Action News Jax reporter Beth Rousseau.
JSO is working to determine if the shooter left the scene or is one of the 15 individuals detained for questioning.
