Jacksonville police: No explosive device found in Walgreens bathroom on Normandy Boulevard

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office bomb squad said it did not find an explosive device after investigating reports of a suspicious package at the Walgreens on Normandy Boulevard near Memorial Park Road.

JSO said an employee found a package in the men's bathroom and heard a sound.

The employee saw someone suspicious going into and leaving the bathroom, so JSO was called to investigate and the store was evacuated.

Investigators found an empty cardboard box and some damage to the toilet and said they are positive it is not an explosive device.

JSO said if anyone who has any information about who left the package is asked to call 904-630-0500.
