Jacksonville police find missing 2-year-old after tip

UPDATE, 4 p.m., 12/14/17: Keith Martin has been booked into the Duval County Jail on charges of child neglect, interference with custody and failure to appear. He is being held on a $3,503 bond.

UPDATE, 9 a.m., 12/14/17: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says they have found 2-year-old Legend Jones after a citizen's tip. He "appears to be safe," police said, and they have also located Keith Martin and are no longer looking for his car.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a missing 2-year-old boy.

Legend Jones was picked up from daycare by a family friend, 49-year-old Keith Allen Martin, on Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. and hasn't been seen since, JSO said.

JSO said in a Facebook post that investigators are "concerned for his safety."

Legend is described as 3 feet tall, weighs 33 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black and red Cars t-shirt, red pants and black shoes.

Martin drives a 2007 green 382i BMW with Florida tag 4258UW and has a similar body style to the car shown in a Facebook post by JSO.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Legend Jones or Keith Martin, or anyone who has seen or heard from Keith Martin since 2 p.m. Wednesday is asked to contact the JSO at 904-630-0500 or email JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org.
