Jacksonville police: Man turns himself in for overnight shooting of toddler, mother

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the man in connection to a shooting that left a 3-year-old in critical condition turned himself in Friday.

Police said that Brian Littles turned himself at 1 p.m. after the Thursday night shooting that happened in the 2000 block of Broadway Avenue in West Jacksonville. The child was shot in the head and his mother was shot in the leg.

The mother is expected to be OK but the child's family said the boy is in critical condition.

Littles is the ex-boyfriend of the child's mother and has no relation to the 3-year-old, JSO said.

Police said around 10 p.m. on Thursday, JSO got several calls about the shooting that happened inside a home on Broadway. Two adults and two children were in the home at the time of the shooting.

Police said Littles came in the home and fired several shots.

The family of the child said the boy has no brain activity.
