JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man's body was found in the woods on the Westside on Friday afternoon.
Police were called to the 4400 block of Melissa Court, off Ricker Road, just before 5 p.m. about the body, which was found with a gunshot wound to the head.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene and police say there are no witnesses or suspects at this time.
Police said some neighbors remember hearing gunshots around 10:30 a.m. or 11 a.m.
