Jacksonville police need help identifying possibly missing boy

Jacksonville police are asking for the public's help in finding a possibly missing child on Friday.

Earlier Friday, an officer from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office investigated a call from to the 12900 block of Spring Rain about the possibly missing child.

A woman told police a boy likely between the ages of 5 to 7, knocked on her door and said he was hungry.

Police said the woman tried to get the boy inside her home, but he replied, "no." She went inside to make him something to eat and to get her phone to take a photo of the child. However, when she returned, he was gone.

The boy is described as a white male about 3 feet tall and weighing 45-60 pounds. He has red, shaggy hair and brown/hazel eyes. He also has an overbite, according to police.

She said the boy seemed well kept with no apparent mental or physical disabilities.

Police said there are no reports of missing children.

Police ask for anyone with information on the boy in the Bartram Park area to call JSO at 904-630-0500.
