Jacksonville police search for unknown suspect accused of breaking into woman's home

JSO is searching for an unknown suspect after police say he forced his way into a woman’s apartment and beat her until she lost consciousness.

According to JSO the incident happened Tuesday at an apartment building on San Pablo Road.

According to police the suspect asked the victim to use her cell phone when the victim went to her car to grab something.

Once the victim walked outside to get her cell phone back from the suspect, police say the suspect forced his way in to the front door and beat her until she lost consciousness.

Police say the victim believed she had been sexually assaulted. JSO describes the suspect as a black man.
