JSO: Woman who escaped during arrest now in custody

8:27 P.M. WEDNESDAY UPDATE: The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday evening that they have arrested the woman who escaped them during an arrest Tuesday night, Emily Ann Howard.

JSO said that "an observant and fact acting citizen" help lead to Howards' arrest.

JSO said that the charge of escape has been added to Howards' charges of trespassing and possession of cocaine.

ORIGINAL STORY: 

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced late Tuesday night it is searching for an escaped prisoner near Dunn Ave. and Harts Rd.

JSO said officers were responding to a call about a disturbance in the area and made contact with the suspect, Emily Ann Howard, 32.

According to JSO, officers were in the process of arresting Howard for trespassing and possession of cocaine when she was able to escape.

JSO said she was last seen wearing a brown t-shirt, blue jean shorts and handcuffs.

Action News Jax law and safety expert Dale Carson says Howard could face resisting arrest, and escape charges upon capture.
