Jacksonville organizations to offer free food to residents post-Hurricane Irma

Several Jacksonville organization are offering free food to those in need after Hurricane Irma left extensive damage to parts of the city.

Action News Jax Special 'Hurricane Irma: After the Storm' 

Daily Manna Serving Center officials said it will distribute perishable and non-perishable food items and household goods Friday at 10 a.m.

Visitors are limited to one distribution per household.

The center regularly provides distributions on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. for senior citizens and Fridays from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. for the rest of the public.

The church will provide free food boxes on Saturday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at two church locations:

  • The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: 4087 Hendricks Ave, Jacksonville
  • The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: 11951 Old St Augustine Rd, Jacksonville

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said it will also help victims of Hurricane Irma in the Jacksonville area this weekend with tree cutting, debris clean up, muck out work and removal of materials damaged from flooding.

Those needing help should call 1-800-451-1954 to set up a work order.
