Jacksonville Suns ownership announces stadium upgrades

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The new ownership group of the Jacksonville Suns announced additions and renovations coming to the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville ahead of baseball season.

A group picnic area, Tiki Terrace, renovations to the private suits and expansion of the Sundowner Lounge are part of the $1.8 million of improvements scheduled for completion by Opening Day April 7.

The Tiki Terrace provides covered seating down the left field line and will be open to all fans.

The Bullpen Terrace, positioned behind the Suns bullpen on the third base side, will have three separate areas designed for group outings.

"We are extremely grateful that the City of Jacksonville, SMG and several local partners collaborated with us to begin to fulfill our vision for a ballpark that shines by its hospitality and extraordinary fan experience," Suns owner Ken Babby said in a press release.

Renovations will double the size of the Sundowner Lounge, which will remain open to all fans. The 12 private suites are being completely renovated.
