• JSO: 11-year-old boy shoots twin brother in shoulder in apparent accidental shooting

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating an apparent accidental shooting after an 11-year-old boy shot his twin brother in the shoulder Wednesday night.

    The incident happened in the 5200 block of Redrac Road.

    JSO said the boys got a hold of their parents' long barrel rifle while their parents were away and one shot the other in the shoulder, leaving a superficial wound.

    The boy shot was taken to UF Health at Jacksonville with non-life-threatening injuries.

    JSO is still investigating, and all involved are cooperating. No arrests have been made.
