JSO investigating suspected meth lab in Jacksonville's Woodstock neighborhood

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating what's believed to be a mobile meth lab near an elementary school in the Woodstock neighborhood.

Around 4 p.m. Wednesday, JSO was alerted to a suspicious vehicle near Commonwealth Avenue and Detroit Street.

The surrounding area was evacuated, including Annie R. Morgan Elementary School.

Neighbor Vanessa Watson said it's a dangerous situation for the area.

“I know it’s safety issue and ya know, I know it can be dangerous for others. People need to get up and go and get some work because these are people who doesn’t have anything to do. You know I’m a working person. I go out and I expect to go in. So people need to either get something to do or find something constructive because this is just a waste of time,” Watson said.

The JSO Narcotics Unit and Hazmat Team are continuing to investigate.
