JSO launches app, calls for service website

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is rolling out new tools to better communicate with the public.

The department will now start putting information online when officers are dispatched to areas of town for various crimes.

There will be a 30-minute delay in the information being released.

JSO is also launching a new app to give real-time information on traffic urgent crimes in the area.

The information will be available between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.

"This enhanced how reporters and citizens get factual info in a timely manner," said Sheriff John Rutherford.

The app is free and didn't cost taxpayers anything to develop.
