The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a man was shot and killed at the Avesta Apartments in Mandarin.
Police responded to multiple calls of shots fired at around 3:20 a.m. on the 3200 block of Hartley Road.
The man, described as being between 20 and 40 years of age, was found lying on the ground between buildings 10 and 11 in the complex, according to officials.
Police said he was shot multiple times.
He was pronounced deceased by the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department, JSO said.
JSO arrived at the scene in response to reports of gunfire. Officials said they found the victim during a canvass.
