A man in his 50s was found dead in a pond on Thursday evening with an ATV on top of him, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man was found dead in a pond with an all-terrain vehicle on top of him at a Southside apartment complex.

Gale Eugene Johnson, an employee of a vendor for the apartment complex, was on the ATV at the back of the Paradise Island complex.

Somehow, the ATV ended up on top of him, JSO Sgt. Carey said. Police do not believe foul play is involved.

"A one man contractor had an accident today. Only he was involved. JSO is in the process of notifying his family and his family is in our prayers," said Jody Mayor, director of property management for PI Perimeter Realty, which manages Paradise Island.
