JSO: Young man found dead in Atlantic Beach backyard

ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. — Police say a young man was killed in the backyard of a home on Cypress Landing Drive on Monday night.

Neighbors called Action News and reported hearing gunshots in the area.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the victim is in his late teens or early 20s. A white car was seen driving away from the scene.

JSO said the victim was standing on the side of the road when a car drove down the road and shots were fired. The victim ran and later found in the backyard of a home.

Police do not have any more information on a suspect description.
