Lake City home with toddler inside shot up, police say

Police are searching for information after a Lake City home with a toddler inside was shot up, according to officers.

Officers were called to reports of shots fired at NE Joe Coney Terrace and NE Martin Luther King Jr Street around 5:30 a.m. Sunday.

Residents of a nearby home told police they were sleeping when they heard gunfire hitting the house.

Officers said five adults and a toddler were inside the house. Someone was also outside at the time of the shooting, but no one was injured, police said.

Investigators say someone who lives at the home got into a fight outside the home with an unidentified male the night before.

Officers believe the shooting was in retaliation for the fight. They are working to identify anyone who
witnessed or was involved in the altercation.
