JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Jacksonville is a city with a large Navy presence, so when Action News Jax was alerted to photos showing a man defacing a Navy uniform, we started asking questions.
Viewers sent us photos of a man identified as Juan Correa holding up what looks like Navy dress whites, but they’re nowhere near white anymore.

In another photo from Correa’s Facebook page, he can be seen using the uniform as a rag to clean a car’s rim. The photo is under a caption that reads “hold on to someone’s property, (expletive)
We tracked down a woman who said she dated the man seen in the photos and that the uniform belongs to her.
She didn’t want to go on camera for fear of retaliation, but she claims Correa got into her home without permission and took the whites. She said it all started over a misunderstanding about a tailored suit that belongs to Correa.
We reached out to Correa; he declined to go on record and denied that uniform belonged to his ex. He claims he found the dress whites in the trash and called them a “rag.”
The Facebook posts have since been taken down.
Under the law, defacing personal property would only be a felony if the property was worth more than $300.
Correa is a retired Navy service member but because he's no longer active duty he likely won't face any military repercussions.
