JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. — A possible fire hazard has become a way to give back to local families in need.
Lynch’s Irish Pub in Jacksonville Beach is known for the custom dollar bills on its walls; but the fire marshal just ordered them to come down.
Some of those bills have been on the walls since the pub first opened in 1994.
Off-duty Jacksonville firefighters shared pictures on Facebook of them helping take down the stacks of cash Tuesday.
GM Keith Doherty says the pub wanted to make a difference.
“That’s the happy ending, that’s the plus side of it,” Doherty said.

Action News Jax spoke with the Firefighters Association. Officials with the organization say they are grateful, and the money will help the Muscular Dystrophy Association and local firefighters needing financial help.
