Man accused of impregnating 12-year-old girl arrested

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Walter Lewis Johnson was arrested for allegedly impregnating a 12-year-old girl.

A 12-year-old girl told police that she was pregnant and that a 60-year-old man impregnated her.

A medical test performed New Year's Eve confirmed that the girl is pregnant.

The girl told police the man performed several different types of sex on her.

Police believe the date of the specific incident happened in the first week of October 2014.

Johnson called 911 after finding out the girl was pregnant and threatened to commit suicide. He was then taken into custody. He denied having any sexual conduct with the girl.

Johnson was arrested and booked at the Duval County Pre-Trial Detention Facility.

He told police he is diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Johnson told police he is not taking his medication and is threatening suicide.

Johnson was arrested and charged with three counts of sexual battery on a person under 18 years of age. He is being held in lieu of a $1.5 million bond.

A spokesperson for the Department of Children and Families confirms they are investigating and providing the child with counseling resources. She is in the custody of her family.
