BRUNSWICK, Ga. — A man is charged with murder after he allegedly killed a 65-year-old Brunswick woman and stole her car, police said.
Officers visited the woman's home on Third Avenue for a welfare check on Sunday.
They saw signs of an assault from the window and forced their way inside.
They found the body of Naomi Acres and saw her car was missing. Investigators learned Ohgo Tokimasa of Japan had recently visited Acres.
Police located Tokimasa and charged him with murder and stealing Acres' car.
Glynn County police also charged him for an offense that happened in their jurisdiction.
Officials said Acres' cause of death is under investigation and appears to be an isolated incident.
