Man accused of trafficking meth from St. Johns County home

A man is behind bars after the St. John’s County Sheriff’s Office said he trafficked meth from inside his Hastings house.

When U.S. marshals went to arrest the man, the Sheriff’s Office says they found 15 illegally possessed firearms.

The man is Steven Oesterreicher who has been booked at the jail 15 times previously.

The arrest report says Oesterreicher’s mother owned the home where the Sheriff’s Office says he was dealing the drugs.

We went to the home and no one answered when we knocked on the door.

But one neighbor who suspected illegal activity was going on spoke to us about how happy he was that Oesterreicher is now gone.

Christopher Brown said, “Oh I’m thrilled. Absolutely thrilled. Thanked the US Marshalls. I was in a great mood last night. Absolutely thrilled. Merry Christmas.”

Brown said he informed the Sheriff’s Office that he thought Oesterreicher was using drugs when he noticed a lot of vehicles in the area, strange smells and odd behavior at night.
