Man arrested after reports of shots fired in Jacksonville Applebee's

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man was arrested after shots were reported inside an Applebee’s in Jacksonville on Thursday.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office responded around 9:30 p.m. to the restaurant on Jay Turner Butler Boulevard.

The staff told officers that a man fired one round at an unknown man who was sitting with him at the same table. The suspect’s vehicle description was provided to officers.

Officers saw a vehicle matching the description on south A1A near the county line. Authorities stopped the vehicle and arrested the man on suspicion of DUI.

JSO said the man admitted to firing the gun, but did not say if it was intentional or accidental.

Police are reviewing surveillance footage and continuing to investigate.
