Man arrested in Nassau County for molesting teenager

A man has been arrested on a search warrant dated Nov. 30 charging him with child molestation, the Nassau County Sheriff's Office.

Albert Preston Brown, 39, was arrested Friday on a charge of lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim over 12 and under 16 years old.

Deputies arrested Brown in Yulee. The victim was molested Nov. 28 in Callahan, deputies said.

Action News Jax reporter Danielle Avitable spoke to the father of the child suspected of being sexually abused by Brown.

The father, who is not being identified, said his daughter told him that Brown came into her bed while she was asleep and touched her inappropriately.

"My whole life I swore if something like this ever happened, I would jump off the deep end and probably kill somebody," the father said. "Now that it happened, your whole perspective changes."

He said Brown has been in his daughter’s life for several years.

Action News Jax looked up Brown’s record. he has a lengthy criminal past with charges ranging from burglary to grand theft auto.

Brown is expected to appear in court in Nassau County. His bond was set at $100,002.
