Man charged with exposing himself to girls at pool

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A man from St. Johns County is accused of exposing himself at a neighborhood swimming pool.

Deputies Saturday morning arrested Melvin Orlando Soto, 54, on three counts of lewd and lascivious exhibition.

Last week, three girls taking part in a competition at the Aquatic Center and Clubhouse on Julington Club Parkway said Soto exposed his genitals.

They swam away from him and ran into the clubhouse to report the incident.

As the girls pointed out the man to staff members, the man grabbed his belongings and left the pool area.

Two days later, detectives identified a possible suspect through a photo lineup and ultimately arrested Soto.

He is free on a $45,000 bond.
