JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is found shot dead on Jacksonville’s westside early this morning. JSO was dispatched around 3am to Lowell and Commonwealth to a person calling for help and shots fired.

When police arrived they found a man dead of apparent gunshot wounds. Homicide Detectives were searching the area for evidence and asked anyone who may have witnessed the shooting to call them at Crime Stoppers 866-845-TIPS.
The only description of the victim is that he was a black male and detectives were working to contact his family.
Police have Lowell blocked off beginning at Erie as they investigate the man’s death. Police could not tell me an approximate age or where the man had been shot.
