JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A wife is grieving after she watched her husband get shot and killed in front of her.
The two were in their car waiting at a stoplight at Kings Road and Interstate 95 after celebrating his 37th birthday on Thursday night.
Robert Bryant was full of smiles.
“Everybody loved that man,” said Tristan Jones, Bryant’s best friend.
Jones said hundreds of people came out to celebrate his best friend’s day at Vibe Night Club.
“Everyone had a great time,” said Jones.
A night full of fun quickly turned to tragedy.
“I was stunned. I was stunned. I woke up and couldn’t even understand how that happened,” Jones says.
Police said someone pulled up next to Bryant and his wife at the intersection of Kings Road and I-95 and started shooting. Jones said Bryant was a father of three.
Bryant’s wife was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police are continuing to look for the suspect.
