JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A judge sentenced a 25-year-old to six years in prison for distributing child pornography.
According to a Department of Justice press release, Sean-Michael Smith was also ordered to serve a seven years of supervised release.
The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office were investigating computers that were distributing child pornography through a peer-to-peer file sharing network on July 3, 2013.
Officers were able to download child porn from an IP address registered to Smith and served a warrant on August 2, 2013, said the release. Smith reportedly admitted to officers admitting to viewing porn and that other users were able to download content from a file sharing network.
Smith pleaded guilty on February 24.
