Man shot in face outside a Jacksonville Walmart dies

A man in his 20s has life-threatening injuries after he was shot Tuesday night during what police said appears to be a drug deal.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The man who was shot in the face at a Walmart parking lot in Regency has died.

The victim, 19-year-old Peter Perez-Corona, was shot Tuesday in the parking lot of the Walmart in the 9800 block of Hutchinson Park Drive, near Interstate 295 and Monument Road.

Perez-Corona was taken to a hospital, where he later died. His birthday would've been Saturday.

There is no suspect information.

Police are continuing to investigate.
