A man is being sought by Flagler County authorities after he sped off during a traffic stop and ran over a deputy's foot on Saturday.
The Flagler County Sheriff's Office said at about 7 p.m. Jimmie Lee Belle III, 24, was stopped by a deputy on 2nd Street South in Flagler Beach after running a stop sign.
The deputy made contact with Belle who then accelerated his car and ran over the deputy's foot.
Deputies said Belle was last seen driving westbound over the Flagler Beach bridge.
He is driving a gray 2016 Dodge Dart with Florida tag DUJ D90.
“If you injure and run from one of my deputies, we will find you,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “It is best to turn yourself in now before more potential charges are added.”
Belle III currently faces charges of Aggravated Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Fleeing and Eluding, and Driving with a Suspended License with Knowledge.
The deputy was taken to Florida Hospital Flagler for treatment and was released.
