More women come forward about being approached by video voyeur after woman chases him out of Target

As of Thursday afternoon, the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office has received 74 tips about Jeffrey Polizzi.

Polizzi is the convicted video voyeur who was seen being chased out of a Target by a local woman. The video she shot has gone viral, reaching more than 3 million views.

That woman, Candice Spivey, said Polizzi approached her and started asking inappropriate questions.

Now other women from four different counties are coming forward saying the same thing.

“(He) just approached (them) and asked some unusual questions,” said Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper.

Sheriff Leeper said none of the tips have led investigators to any illegal activity. What Polizzi was doing by itself is not against the law.

“It’s really frustrating that it’s not illegal,” said Spivey.

For her, the silver lining has been creating awareness for other women.

“I think when you start standing up for yourself and you become mean, then I think they will leave you alone,” she said.

Action News Jax crime and safety expert Ken Jefferson said it may not be safe to turn the tables on someone like Polizzi. He said it’s safer just to walk away.

“If he follows you, just continue to walk,” said Jefferson. “If you see management, let them know this sort of behavior is going on in their store, and they’ll do something about it.”

The video has drawn a large response on Facebook. Some people have suggested more bystanders should have tried to stop Polizzi as he ran away.

Jefferson said that’s also not a good idea, because Polizzi wasn’t breaking any laws.

“It’s a good thing no one else got involved,” said Jefferson. “Because if you put your hands on him, you could be charged with a battery.”

Even with all the attention, Spivey doesn’t believe Polizzi will stop. She said he knows what he can get away with.

“I do very much think that he knows his full rights,” said Spivey.
