Judge issues gag order in custody fight over Cherish Perrywinkle's siblings

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A judge issued a gag order Wednesday morning at a custody hearing for the children of Rayne Perrywinkle.

Perrywinkle is the mother of Cherish Perryinkle, the 8-year-old girl kidnapped and killed in 2013.  Donald Smith, a registered sex offender, is facing murder charges in her death.

Rayne Perrywinke spoke to Action News back in July about her fight to regain custody of her two other daughters, Destiny and Neveah. The girls were placed in foster care nearly a year ago after Cherish was killed.

In addition to Rayne, there will be other family members from Australia at the hearing who have shown interest in taking the girls.

The judge set a new hearing for Monday.  It will be closed to the media and public.
