Multiple people caught on camera rummaging through truck

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Five people were caught on video rummaging through a man's truck parked in his own Southside driveway.

The victim is just thankful the people didn't get inside his home, where his wife and young daughters were sleeping.

The incident happened early Wednesday morning off Baymeadows Road.

One of the suspects attempted to use a garage door opener, trying to get inside his home.

“In the video, you saw the kid take the garage opener and click it. So I don't know what they would've done if the garage had opened,” said neighbor Justin Dewey. “This really just needs to stop, and they need to get caught.”

The victim said the people didn’t get anything valuable.

One other truck was targeted on the same street. Nothing of value was reportedly taken from that victim, either.

Anyone who has any information in regards to the identity of the suspects is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500 or email JSOCrimeTips@jaxsheriff.org. To remain anonymous and receive a possible reward up to $3,000, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.

The vehicle on the right is locked, they leave that alone. The vehicle on the left is unlocked. They all flock to search the vehicle and take whatever they can find. This happened on Reedy Branch Drive early Wednesday morning.
