Nassau County wildfire: How you can help

Action News Jax has received numerous requests from citizens who want to assist wildfire victims in Nassau County. Here is where you can help by donating needed items:

Bryceville Community Center & Library off of US Hwy 301

Post by Nassau Co. Emergency Management: Those who wish to donate clothing, hygiene supplies, food, water or other beverages to displaced residents can take them to the Bryceville Community Center or Library off of U.S. Hwy 301.

Found animals should be taken to the Nassau County Fairgrounds where Animal Control and the Humane Society are assisting with sheltering and reunification operations. Donated pet and livestock food are also welcome at the fairgrounds.

West Nassau High School

The school will open 5 p.m. Thursday as a donation collection center. A staff member says several of their students "lost everything." They need gift cards, toiletries, other items. 

Winn-Dixie in Callahan
There is a group collecting donations between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Thursday. There will be a truck and horse trailer. Plantation Oaks Farms in Callahan has 20 stalls available for displaced animals. Contact Amy Green of Plantation Oaks Farms, 45460 Hodges Rd 904-524-3004 or click here.  

River Road Baptist Church
If any of you have friends or family that were impacted by the Bryceville fire you can send them to River Road Baptist Church's food pantry and clothes closet. They can get whatever they want for free. Come by the church office between 8:30 and 12:30 Thursday or Friday.

Lighthouse Baptist Church
Lighthouse Baptist at 9777 Ford Road. Items can be dropped near the front door any time if no one is there. 

Bryceville Sports Association
The ballpark will be accepting any donations you may have for the fire victims. They will be rthere Thursday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Please feel free to drop off any clothes, toiletries, towels, blankets, food, pet food, gift cards, etc. If you are a fire victim and need anything please send us a message or stop by the park.

Fernandina Beach
Cari Cahill‎ says: If you'd like to donate to the families in Bryceville, my shop is available as a dropoff spot. We're at 1008 S. 14th St. Look for the giant purple and orange eyeballs in the windows. We're between Vystar and Nassau Second Chance. I'm coordinating with several people to make sure everything gets to Bryceville and folks in need. Cahill‎ says, "I'm from Bryceville, and my heart breaks for my hometown.

Bryceville Baptist Church
The church is putting together care packages for some of the people who have lost everything. They will need anything one might need who has nothing but the clothes on their back.
They're in need of:
Children's clothes- any size
Adult clothes- any size
Toiletries- toilet paper, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine products, etc.
Baby items- diapers, wipes, formula, etc.
Wash cloths
Towels
Blankets
Food- canned goods, non-perishables
Gift Cards
Pet food

Jacksonville
Crossview Mortgage is collecting items such as clothes, sheets, beds, furniture, food, water, dog & cat supplies, non-perishable food for all families of the Bryceville fires.

We are asking the city to come together and support these families who lost everything. NO family will be left behind. We will be on call 24-7. We are working with Bryceville Baptist Church (904) 329-7231.
