Neptune Beach neighbors react to scene of missing 15-year-old, grandmother

NEPTUNE BEACH, Fla. — Few answers have been given to the families of 15-year Logan Mott and his grandmother, Kristina French.  Both are considered missing and endangered by police.

French’s sister in North Carolina said the experience is devastating, saying family doesn't really know what to think.

Right now, neighbors near what has become an active crime scene on Seagate Avenue in Neptune Beach feel the same way.

“All we saw was just police cars increasing in number, but we [didn’t see] anything like two days ago leading up to this,” neighbor Kristine Hammond said.

Thursday afternoon, Action News Jax was positioned in front of the home where Mott and his grandmother were last seen--until police closed down the whole block and moved us down the street.

Shortly thereafter, detectives arrived, followed by tents and crime scene vans.  It became clear out here that investigators were in it for the long haul.

As police meticulously examine the scene, family and neighbors only become more concerned.

“I do hope and pray that they find this child,” neighbor Cheryl Cropper said.  “If that was my grandson, I would do anything to find him, anything.”
