Greyhound has a new home in Jacksonville.
An $11 million intercity bus terminal is replacing the current station in the heart of downtown.
The move is phase one of the Jacksonville Regional Transportation Center.
Action News Jax was at the project groundbreaking in June 2017.

Jacksonville Transportation Authority CEO Nathaniel Ford explains, “Transit oriented developments and communities that create density around transportation centers, are thriving communities.”
Passengers say the new location could be inconvenient for those who live in the heart of downtown.

James Martin tells Action News Jax the new terminal is a much needed upgrade from the current station.
He explains, “The whole roofing is coming apart. Inside the bathrooms need to be updated. It’s a little rundown.”
City and transportation leaders are hoping the center will bring business to the River City.
Completion of phase two is scheduled for 2020.
The first buses roll out of the new terminal on April 17.
