(FDOT)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The new State Road 9B is scheduled to open the first week of June with weather permitting, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

The southbound lanes and ramps of the new roadway will open first. The northbound lanes and ramps are scheduled to open the following week.

The second phase of the project started in 2013 at the cost of $95 million, FDOT said.

The third phase is currently under construction and it will connect Interstate 95 to County Road 2209 and Race Track Road via a connector road in St. Johns County.

The third phase is scheduled to be completed in 2018, FDOT said.
