Orange Park man arrested after threatening to burn down Chili's

An Orange Park man was taken to the Clay County Jail after he threatened to burn down the Chili's on Wells Road earlier this month, a police report said.

Jason Bass, 40, was charged with threatening to discharge a destructive device, a second-degree felony.

Bass reportedly posted on Facebook: "Hey chilllis of orange park im setting your building on fire at 6 30 sharp last time this world takes advantage of me [expletive] you chilllis of orange park i hope you all die!"

The Facebook thread drew a series of comments urging Bass to take the post down.

"Hey bro. Just saying that is a criminal offense. Take this post down please," one poster said.

"Threatening to burn a corporate building down and possibly harming or killing innocent people.... I'm sure cops are already at your house. You probably don't have a job now either. People now Jesus," another person wrote.

The Facebook page where the threats were made said that Bass had worked at Chili's in the past.

The police report said that Bass was arrested without incident at the Little Ceasar's on Wells Road. The police report listed Little Ceasar's as Bass' employer.
