A motorcyclist was killed when an elderly woman failed to yield at an intersection in Orange Park Monday morning.
The 84-year-old Middleburg woman was attempting to turn left into the Walmart entrance on State Road 21 when she slammed into the motorcyclist, who was traveling northbound on SR 21.
Florida Highway Patrol’s investigation found the woman had a solid green light – indicating she needed to yield to oncoming traffic – instead of a green arrow.
Joseph Canaday, 36, was transported to Orange Park Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
Charges are pending for the woman.
