Lake City police find flakka, cocaine on suspect after woman robbed at TJ Maxx

Police said they found flakka on a man who snatched a gift card and cash from a woman outside a Lake City TJ Maxx on Tuesday.

A woman said she walked out of TJ Maxx holding a gift card worth $128 and $42 in cash at around 7:30 p.m.

She said she thought it was a prank when 32-year-old Eric Jones snatched the card and money from her hand.

She told Jones she was calling 911 and that she had his license plate number.

She said he told her "Call the police, it's a rental" and drove off.

Police learned the car was rented from Enterprise and got an address for Jones from the company.

Officers saw him driving near the home. He drove into a backyard and ran from the car.

Officers detained him after he ran inside a house.

They found the gift card and cash on him along with a plethora of drugs.

They found a rock-like substance that tested positive for flakka, 19 bags of cocaine and two bags of marijuana on Jones.

He is being held on a $79,000 bond for robbery by sudden snatching and various drug offenses, including distribution.
