Puppy stolen from Jacksonville salon

It has been nearly a week since a Jacksonville salon owner had her puppy stolen from right outside her shop.

Lynn Wilborn said she got her puppy, Finiti, for her birthday.

Less than a month after the Shih Tzu-poodle mix became a part of her family, she was stolen.

"And he came down the side walk and took my puppy," Wilborn said.

Wilborn said she was busy with a customer in her salon when Finiti got outside on Oct. 11.

"I was shampooing at the shampoo bowl and somebody came in the shop and out my puppy went," Wilborn said.

When she didn’t hear the normal jingle coming from the bell around her puppy’s collar, Wilborn said she knew something was wrong.

"The worst feeling I’ve ever had in my life. I have high blood pressure and my stomach just knotted up," Wilborn said.

Wilborn said her puppy walked down the sidewalk to the business next to hers.

That's where a surveillance camera caught the moment right before her puppy was snatched, she said.

Action News Jax obtained exclusive video showing a man walking by a store in the Paxon shopping center with Finiti trying to keep up.

"He had a bag of dog food so he might be a pet lover. I don't know. I just want him to bring her back," Wilborn said.

A business owner, who didn’t want to be identified, said he watched the man take Finiti.

"Then at the side of the building he stopped and bent over and took it and walked away with it,” the business owner said.

Wilborn said she doesn’t even want to press charges; she just wants the puppy back.

"I don't want him to be in any type of trouble, I just want him to return a part of my family," Wilborn said.

Wilborn owns Miami’s Finest Full Service Salon on North Edgewood Avenue.

She said if you see the puppy, call the salon at 904-910-6788.
