Stolen car tied to Moncrief shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Officers have released surveillance photos of a car believed to be involved in a deadly shooting at a Jacksonville gas station.

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the photos show a man stealing a silver 2013 Kia Forte from the Ramada Inn on Hartley Road July 31.

They believe it's the same car witnesses saw leaving the homicide scene on Friday night.

Dozens of people gathered around the gas station as police investigated.

The victim of the shooting was identified on Saturday as 40-year-old James Clarence Young.

Police say he was shot several times and died at the scene.

Investigators said it appears Young was targeted.

Police are reviewing security camera video and are also asking witnesses to come forward.
